maritime museum

 Yesterday on Monday we got a trip  with our senior syndicate we all had to go on 1 bus that was very hot from people's breathing but i handle it.

When we got there we walked across to the building and a person welcomed us his name was Lee he told us to just follow him so we did,when we got there and saw the people of the waka they did a wai ata and when they finished we did our one that was taurere  after that we ate our launch and went to our first activity that was saling we got on and this man told us to follow these rules it was 1.dont fall of.2dont fall of.3 dont fall of so we did (couldn't find his name) so we settled into the ocean and explore around the waka it was called Huniu Hoerua they said it went around the world like Tonga,Samoa,Cook island,Fiji,Tahiti,also under the golden state bridge in San Francisco,even Mexico and other places when we got to look around the waka we saw a picture of 6 waka that it was waka haurua (Double boat)that was Huniu,Va'atele, Aotearoa 1 and other 3 waka's but did't know the name of it.Me and Dontae got to blow the conshell of the horn it was fun and funny at the same time after that we head back to the museum.

After that we had this other activity that was was building a hoerua waka and then learned about how they used this map for their direction of east,west,north,and south after that we had to quickly head into the hawaiki that had tons of boat from island's around the Pacific and alongside that we did this chellenge that was to tie a rope onto to stick's and make it cross we also learned about how rope is stronger then nail and People used it to make their boat. After that we walked outside and waited for the cannon to fire we counted down from ten but when we finish counting the lady said we forgot to say fire so we counted from 5 and said fired (BOOM) and we all got frighted and after that we went into a little movie theater and watched this short film how voyager's settled to find New Zealand it was fun because we got to chill at the time.After that we head to the room to find 6 things so we all locked around for it we all found it and after that we head back to eat our lunch. So after that we got onto our bus and got to school everyone was tierd but still had energy we played room 11's faviroute game called go home saty home you might wonder it funny but we all have to run and touch the base and call out it name and then we are safe.We were running from taggers that chase us around the whole school after that bell went and we all went home.
